Meet our CCAR Facilitator
Hi, I'm Claudia. I am a bilingual (English and Spanish) trainer and recovery professional who is passionate about empowering people to discover their potential and believe in their ability to create lasting change. With experience facilitating recovery coaching trainings, I strive to create welcoming, engaging learning environments where everyone feels seen, heard, and valued.
My greatest strength comes from my lived experience. It allows me to connect with others in an authentic and compassionate way, offering hope, understanding, and practical tools that support growth and resilience. Whether I am training recovery coaches, supporting professionals, or working with youth and families, my mission is to inspire others to recognize their strengths, overcome challenges, and know that recovery and personal transformation are possible.
Core Trainings
Recovery Coach Academy
The Peer Recovery Coach Academy is a comprehensive, interactive training designed to prepare individuals to provide effective, person-centered recovery support. Based on the nationally recognized Connecticut Community for Addiction Recovery (CCAR) model, this training equips participants with the knowledge, skills, and ethical foundation needed to support individuals on their recovery journey. Participants learn the core principles of recovery coaching, including active listening, motivational communication, ethical decision-making, cultural humility, strengths-based support, goal setting, and maintaining healthy boundaries.
Through engaging discussions, experiential activities, role-playing, and practical exercises, participants build the confidence and skills needed to support individuals in achieving their recovery goals. The curriculum emphasizes empowering people to recognize their strengths, build recovery capital, and create meaningful pathways toward long-term wellness. This training is ideal for individuals with lived experience, family members, behavioral health professionals, community advocates, and anyone passionate about supporting others in recovery.

Ethical Considerations
The Ethical Considerations training provides Recovery Coaches, Peer Professionals, and helping professionals with the knowledge and confidence to navigate complex situations while maintaining integrity, professionalism, and respect for those they serve.
This interactive 16-hour training explores the ethical principles and standards that guide recovery support services. Participants will examine topics such as professional boundaries, confidentiality, informed consent, cultural humility, conflicts of interest, dual relationships, and ethical decision-making. Through engaging discussions, case studies, and real-world scenarios, participants will strengthen their ability to respond thoughtfully and ethically to challenges encountered in the field.
By the end of the training, participants will have practical tools to make sound ethical decisions, protect the trust of those they support, and uphold the values of recovery in every interaction.

Recovery Coaching and Professionalism
Recovery Coaching and Professionalism training equips Recovery Coaches and Peer Professionals with the knowledge and practical skills needed to represent themselves, their organizations, and the recovery profession with confidence and excellence.
This interactive 12-hour training explores the core principles of professional conduct, effective communication, role clarity, accountability, self-care, cultural responsiveness, and ethical workplace practices. Participants will strengthen their ability to build trusting relationships, navigate professional challenges, and uphold the values of recovery while maintaining healthy boundaries and a person-centered approach.
Through engaging discussions, real-world scenarios, and practical application, participants will gain tools that enhance credibility, confidence, and long-term success in the recovery field.
